Greetings from the city of coffee!!

I have been a blog reader for years now; and thought about having one of my own for months. Must say, I have elevated procrastination into an art! But here I am at last, excited to share with all my hermanas/sisters (and the accidental brother, why not?) the snippets of beauty that make us all fabulous. I have yet to find a blog for women of Latin American descent.- Where are you hermanas??? We are high consumers of beauty products; we love the hair and the looks, we are coquetas by nature. Now now my African American sistahs, blondies, and Asian beauties... do not despair -- I love you too! (special greetz to my sistah Brittany of Clumps of Mascara and hermana Ann from YummieBitez; my inspirators and future conspirators).

Now mind you, beauty -belleza- is not all about makeup. Certainly, hermanas; a bit o'mascara and a nicely applied blush is icing on the lusciousness of everyone; not the core. And let's face it: most of us do not look like Salma Hayek, Aishwarya Rai, Tyra Banks, or Kate Hudson. Neither should we want to. We should be our best selves; and that involves more; much more than just a quick trip to the MAC counter (though that has proven healing qualities).

My initial musings for this blog were the usual suspects: product reviews (mostly cheapie ones since this girl has to budget for her family of Bella, Rojo and the Birds), fave websites & blogs from other hermanas and sistahs... you get the picture. Then I thought that we could -should!- talk about eating habits, vitamins, meditation... which ARE part of being and feeling beautiful.

That said, grab your coffee (one is never enough hermanas, never!) and let's get beautiful!
